Daniel Haile

Co-Founder & Lead Instructor

"I built this workshop around what actually gets clients — not what sounds impressive in a brochure."

Daniel Haile is the co-founder of ICAN Film and the lead instructor for all Academy workshops. He built his real estate media business from the ground up — learning what realtors actually pay for, what separates a working photographer from one waiting for clients, and how to build systems that scale.

His teaching approach is direct and practical. Every class session is designed around a real-world deliverable. By the time you complete the program, you'll have done the work, not just watched someone else do it.

Common Questions

FAQ

Do I need my own camera to join?

Yes — you'll need a DSLR or mirrorless camera for hands-on practice. Class 1 includes a full guide on what gear matters and what's optional, so you're not buying equipment you don't need.

What software do we use for editing?

The course covers Lightroom for color correction and HDR workflows. A free trial is available if you don't have a subscription. We'll walk you through setup in the first few classes.

Can I join online if I'm not in Calgary?

Yes. All sessions run live on Google Meet at the same time as the in-person class. You get full instructor access, the same digital materials, and Q&A time each session.

Is there a prerequisite for this workshop?

No prerequisites. We start from camera basics in Class 1. If you're an experienced photographer, the early classes will go quickly for you and the advanced sessions on HDR, floor plans, and business systems will add significant value.
